Procedure for issue of various types of Visas:

(I)         Following are the requirements common for all type of visas unless specified otherwise that are to be submitted at the time of submission of application:

(a)       Duly filled in application form for all categories of visas like Tourist Visa, Business Visa and Family Visa/Entry Visa, student visa, Conference visa, medical visa, transit visa, etc. are to be submitted to the service provider. We advise submission of application in person so that clarifications if any can be taken on the spot by the service provider. Under no circumstances should cash be sent by post.

(b)        Two passport size photographs showing full frontal fore-view of 5.1 x 5.1 cms size (2” x 2”) (One to be pasted and another to be stapled on the application form).

(c)        Passport – should be valid for at least six months.

(d)        Nationals of other countries holding Dutch resident permit Card are required to submit to the service provider copy of the Residence Permit Card along with the passport. Original Residence Permit should also be shown at the time of submission of application.

(e)        In case of Tourist Visa/medical visa/ conference visa/ Employment Visa/Business Visa/ transit visa etc. for those Dutch nationals of Chinese, Iran, Iraqi, Taiwanese, Libyan, Nigerian, Somalian and Morrocan origin, applicants are required to fill in an additional form for which an extra processing fee of € 30 will be charged. It may take at least 7 working days for issue of visa in such cases.

(f)        In case of Tourist Visa/medical visa/ conference visa/ transit visa etc. for those non-Dutch passport holders including Chinese, Afghanistan, Sri Lankan, Iran, Iraqi, Taiwanese, Libyan, Nigerian, Somalian and Morrocan passport holders, who have not ordinarily been resident of Netherlands for at least last one year, applicants are required to fill in an additional form for which an extra processing fee of € 30 will be charged. It may take at least 7 working days for issue of visa in such cases. As a proof of ordinarily residing in the Netherlands for more than last one year, as mentioned above,  applicants are required to provide an Uittreksel from the respective Gemente clearly showing period of residence since registering in the Gemente. In such case, applicants are exempted from filling in the additional form.

(g)        In case of Business Visa/Employment Visa for non-Dutch Passport holders, who have not ordinarily been resident of Netherlands for at least last two years, applicants are required to fill in an additional form for which an extra processing fee of € 30 will be charged. Additional form has to be filled in and it may take at least 7 working days for issue of visa in such cases. Those applicants are also required to attend a personal meeting with the consular staff at the Embassy before completion of process of their visa application. As a proof of ordinarily residing in the Netherlands as mentioned above,  applicants are required to provide an Uittreksel from the respective Gemente clearly showing period of residence since registering in the Gemente.

(h)        In case of Business Visa/Employment Visa for Afghanistan, China, Nigeria, Somalia, Iran, Iraq, Pakistan and foreign nationals of Pakistan origin, the process of completing a Business Visa can take at least upto 3 to 6 months.

(i)         In case of nationals of Pakistan and foreign nationals of Pakistan origin, the process of completing any category of  Visa can take at least upto 3 to 6 months.

(II)        Any applicants for any type of visa applying through the service provider may be called for interview at the discretion of the embassy, and they shall be informed of the same by the service provider.

(III)         Visa applicants while visiting India should abide by the law of the land and refrain from contracting Muttah marriage and also should not indulge in any kind of unlawful activity.

(V)       The requirement mentioned for various categories of visas in this section are only indicative and not exhaustive; In addition to requirements given here the Consular/Visa Section can ask for any additional information/document proof/requirement for consideration of the visa application.

Please Note:

i)         Visa will be valid from date of issue.

ii)          Time taken: Visa is issued on the same day upon receipt, of visa application with passport, in the visa section of the Embassy under normal circumstances. However, it is pertinent to know that the general time taken when applied directly through our service provider at their different locations is as follows:

iv)        US nationals are required to pay additional fee of Euro 25 /-.

v)          Pakistan nationals will be charged € 2 for an Indian visa.

vi)       Sri Lankan nationals will be charged € 4 and € 7 for Single-entry & Double-entry visas respectively.

vii)        Nationals of the following countries will be issued visa free of cost:  a) Afghanistan (b) Bangladesh  c) Jamaica d) Maldives e) Mongolia f) Mauritius g) Poland h) Slovak Republic i) South Africa and j) Uruguay. However, they have to pay the relevant service charges etc. to the service provider and apply through the service provider only.

vii         A service charge of € 50  is charged from Russian and Romanian nationals respectively by the Embassy. No other fee will be charged. However, they have to pay the relevant service charges etc. to the service provider and apply through the service provider only.

ix)        Diplomatic & Official passport holders accompanied with appropriate Note Verbale (NVs) are exempted from payment of visa fee except for holders of US official passports; and UK Diplomatic/official passports on non-official travel who will be charged visa application fees respectively.

x)         When an Indian visa affixed on old passport is transferred to a new one, a service fee of    € 6 is charged.
