NRI certificate is issued at the request of an Indian Passport holder (who is resident in the Netherlands) for the purpose of admission of his/ her son/ daughter/ ward in Colleges/ Universities in India under the NRI quota or for any other specific purpose subject to eligibility and fulfilment of necessary documentation requirements. For this service, applicants have to apply in person only.
Requirements:
i. Miscellaneous Application Form dully filled in and signed by the applicant(for Miscellaneous Application Form, please visit the link 'Forms for Consular Services')
ii. Declaration regarding the NRI status by the applicant in the prescribed format (for format of declaration, please visit the link 'Forms for Consular Services')(Note: In support of his/ her declaration, the applicant is required to produce his/ her passport and Dutch Residence Permit Card (if the applicant is Dutch Residence Permit Card holder) in original and self-attested photocopy of passport page(s) containing Dutch Residence Permit/ Visa or self-attested photocopy of Dutch Residence Permit Card (if the applicant is Dutch Residence Permit Card holder) orpassport page(s) containing immigration stamps confirming that the applicant did not reside in India for more than 180 days during the preceding financial year).
iii. Self-attested photocopies of first two and last two pages of the valid passport containing personal particulars of the applicant and the page(s) containing Passport Officer’s observation(s) (if any).
iv. Proof of Residence: Any of the following self-attested documents viz. copy of utility bill (landline telephone bill/electricity bill/gas bill/water bill) or lease deed (of house) etc. where the applicant’s address is clearly mentioned, should be provided, OR Uittreksel from Gemeente where applicant’s address in the Netherlands is clearly mentioned should be provided.
Fee: €25.00. Fee is payable by debit card (PIN). Cash is accepted as an exception if exact amount is tendered.
Processing Time: Two working days subject to documentation being in order.
Note: Apart from the general mandatory requirements mentioned above, applicant may be advised to submit additional documents, after scrutiny, on case to case basis.
